The Secret Ends In The Most Famous Fairytales
Storytelling and writing stories might be an ancient art, but it has grown and changed a lot with time. The stories which used to be imaginative and mystical are now more reality based. Even the writing process which required scribbling on stones or dipping the pen again and again in ink, now only requires Printer ink refill or toner cartridges. Yet, there are lots of stories, which are always told without a single change. The same stories that we tell our children have been inherited from generation to generation. These are the well known bed-time stories or better known as fairytales.
Whenever thinking about fairy tales, our imagination takes us away to a magical, whimsical world full of colors and beauties. it is Disney which created this whole new world. Disney always has its manner of telling stories, explaining situations and building characters. Snow White was probably the first ever animated movie, which defined the stereotype of a perfect damsel in distress. The movie was loved by viewers of all ages. this is for the reason that that we humans always wish all the things to end well, the good taking over evil and then living happily ever after.
The truth is that most of those stories are actually not written with an ‘happily ever after’ ending. As the greatest contributors of the stories were the famous Grimm brothers, the real end was mostly no so sweet. However, there always was a moral behind those stories. Thus, the alteration by Disney wasn’t actually intended to add a good aspect to the moral of the story but to make it suitable for younger children.
One of the most prominent alteration was added in the story is of ‘Cinderella’. We know it as a sweet story with singing birds, talking mice and a cute little fairy god mother. The only bad guy in the story is cindy’s step mom and sisters, made worse as the hideous looking step sisters. Aside from their cruel behavior, who can think of anything evil in the story? Yet, in the real Grimm version, the step sisters are pretty lasses who knowingly chopped their own feet in order to make them fit them in the slippers. Yet that doesn’t end it all. The birds eventually poked the sisters’ eyeballs in the end to serve justice.
One of the other famous ones include the story of the piper in which he actually leads the children to a river where they end up drowning. therefore, teaching a great lesson to the such evil people of the town. In the same manner, in the original version of Snow White, the complete first kiss thing is missing. Alos, it was not the heart that the queen evil queen ordered, it were the lungs which she wished to be eaten for dinner. It was in fact the jolt of the prince’s steade, which woke the lady up. Later, the queen was revenged by dancing to death in red burning iron shoes.
